Geraldine S. "Gerry" Wilbur

Geraldin WilburGeraldine S. “Gerry” Wilbur, 86, of Brentwood and a former longtime resident of Hampton, passed away at the Rockingham Nursing Home in Brentwood where she had been living since becoming ill. Geraldine was born in Newburyport, Mass., on January 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Studley) Pevear. Gerry was past president of the Hampton Senior Citizens, a member of the former Hampton Monday Club and was a top seller as "Hampton's Avon Lady” for 52 years. She was a past Hampton PTA member and Brownie Troop Leader. She was the most wonderful and caring mother and friend to many citizens here on the Seacoast. She loved to socialize and showed countless acts of kindness towards others. She and her late husband were licensed Foster parents from the State of New Hampshire where she opened her heart and home for many years, giving less fortunate children a welcoming safe environment to live in. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. She was the wife of the late Thomas I. Wilbur who died in 1989. Gerry is survived by her four children and their spouses, daughters; Karen and Paul Ardagna of Rochester, Ellen and Rick DeCosta of Hampton, sons; Stephen and Janice Wilbur of Hampton and Kenneth and Lori Wilbur of North Hampton. She also leaves her 10 grandchildren; Holly Furlone, Heidi and Robert Pettigrew, Ricky and Tim DeCosta, Tom, Mark, Amy, Brandon and Dylan Wilbur and her two great-grandchildren, Lily and Bobby. She will be missed terribly by her devoted and loving family.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery. Gerry's family would like to give a BIG Thank you to the staffs at Rockingham County Nursing Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for all their support during Gerry's time of need.
