Roland T. Barnaby

HAMPTON — Roland T. Barnaby, 88, of 16 Thorwald Ave., died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood after a lengthy illness.
Born in Greenland on Jan. 12, 1913, he was a son of the late Lewis and Charlotte (Thompson) Barnaby.
He worked as a carpenter for contractors in the Seacoast area for many years. He also was employed by Hampton Motors for several years and by the town of Hampton as a part-time police officer from 1960 to 1978.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hampton and had resided here since 1928, having come from Stratham.
He was the husband of Ina H. (Taylor) Barnaby; they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 11.
In addition to his wife, family members include one son, Roland T. Barnaby and his wife, Linda, of Portsmouth; two daughters, Lynda A. Berry of Newport, N.C., and Charlotte “Peppa” Ring and her husband, Jay, of Hampton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Barnaby of Seabrook; two sisters, Priscilla Berry of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Marilyn Huber of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and four sisters predeceased him.
BARNABY — Roland T. Barnaby, 88, of 16 Thorwald Ave., Hampton, died April 18, 2001. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family requests there be no visiting hours and that flowers please be omitted.
