Thomas D. Blair

Thomas D. Blair, 72, of Hampton, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at his home following a long battle with cancer and heart disease.

He was born July 31, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Thomas R. and Anna (Billey) Blair. Tom graduated from the University of Buffalo and earned his United States Air Force wings in 1965.

Tom and his childhood sweetheart, Donna (Burkard) Blair, were married in 1961 and together they raised three children. Tom was an Eastern Airline pilot for 21 years and later became a financial advisor for American Express.

His passion for baseball led him to a coaching career that included a number of teams from Little League to the college level and he was honored by having the Winnacunnet High School baseball field named after him in 2007. He was a very devoted and loving family man who adored his family, friends, baseball, and his beloved dog "Brady".

In addition to his wife Donna of Hampton, Tom is survived by his son Thomas V. Blair and his wife Debbie of Farmington; daughters, Jeanne Sicard of Hampton, Julie Proctor and her husband Paul of Danville and eleven beautiful grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 8, 2013 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockingham VNA & Hospice, 137 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH 03833 or the Winnacunnet Thomas D. Blair Scholarship Fund c/o 39 Ashbrook Dr., Hampton, NH 03842.
