HAMPTON — Hazel (Pilkington) Fanning, 87, of 4 Smith Avenue, died Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 23, 1907, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary (Prince) Pilkington.

Raised in the Lawrence and Methuen, Mass., area, she was a graduate of Methuen High School and graduated in 1929 as a registered nurse from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Fanning lived for many years in Melrose, Mass., moving to Hampton more than 30 years ago, and had wintered in Hollywood, Fla., until 1987.

She owned and operated the "Greenlands" Tourist Cabins at 265 North Shore Road in Hampton for 50 years, along with her husband, Albert D. Fanning

Mrs. Fanning was predeceased by her husband, Albert Daniel Fanning, who died in 1969.

She is survived by two sons, Donald P. Fanning and his wife, Dee, of Hampton, and Stuart J. Fanning and his wife, Priscilla, of Rochester; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
