NORTH HAMPTON — Robert S. Gamlin, 77, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Son of Orange Scott Brigham Gamlin and Gladys Cadman Gamlin, Bob was born on May 15, 1938 in Exeter, N.H., where he was raised and attended Exeter High School. After high school, Bob trained and competed in the Golden Gloves Boxing program – a memory he was always very proud to share.

Devoted husband and loving father, Bob was owner/operator of Hampton Tire until 1992. Additionally, Bob served two terms as a North Hampton Selectman, was a President of the North Hampton Rod and Gun Club and served on the NH Snowmobile Association Board of Directors during the 1980s. He organized and participated in many events to raise money for Easter Seals and Muscular Dystrophy and appeared on the Jerry Lewis telethon once as a result. He loved fishing, camping, trap shooting, snowmobiling and socializing with everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlene; his son Richard Shea and wife Susan; his son David Gamlin and wife Stephanie; his daughter Michelle Fallon and husband Michael; Granddaughters Kathy, Kelly, Elizabeth and Emily and grandson, Camden.

Bob loved to spend time in St Paul (Quebec) with family and friends. If you met him, he would offer to take you along on the next trip – and he sincerely meant it. His generosity, frankness and love of life will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Bethany Church, 500 Breakfast Hill Road, Greenland, N.H., on June 12 at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served immediately following.
