HAMPTON  Virginia L. Hatch, on Sunday, December 13, 2015, Virginia went to her eternal reward after a more than heroic battle having suffered for many years, yes Virginia, there is a Merciful God.

Virginia was the daughter of Arthur Leveille and Lillian (Marquardt) Leveille. She was the beloved wife of Dwight Hatch who predeceased her. She was sister to Robert Duclos and Theresa Saunders and Aunt to Catherine Simard and Jonathan Saunders and his fiancée Janice Magnani.

Virginia pursued her passion for learning from the time she could read and think, an avid learner and researcher she attended schools of higher learning in Conn., N.Y., Ohio and Tenn. She reached the pinnacle of her studies by receiving her Doctorate of Education from the University of Tenn. Her proudest moment!

Virginia was interested in many things bird watching, gardening, animals, having had many dogs and cats throughout her lifetime, photography, painting, music (a member of the Newburyport Choral Society) and equality for all human beings. She taught schools in Maine, New Hampshire, Mass., as well as Conn., N.Y., Ohio and Tenn. She was an excellent teacher beloved and admired by all who knew her. After retiring she worked as a photo journalist for The Seacoast Scene in Hampton, N.H., which led to her becoming the, Lady with, "The Question of the Week". She was "The Lady", until the paper was sold. People would look forward to her being on the beat year after year.

Virginia will be missed by many who knew her and loved her and those lives she had touched if only in passing. God bless you and keep you in his loving arms. Good bye for now. Thank you for being my sister and my friend.
