Margaret “Peg” J.C. Melbye, 85, of Towle Road died Wednesday, September 28, 1994 in Exeter Hospital.
She was born June 5, 1909, in Bethlehem, Pa., the daughter of the late Carl E. and Annie Jane (Trend) Melbye. She had been a resident of Hampton since 1972.
Miss Melbye worked for many years as the secretary to the president of the Reynolds Corp., a cordage company of Boston and San Francisco. Prior to her retirement, she was in charge of the Boston sales office for Trio Manufacturing Co. of Forsyth, Ga., that succeeded the Reynolds Corp.
She was a member of the trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton and had been a volunteer for many years at the church’s Nearly New Shop. She had also been a volunteer at the Lane Memorial Library in Hampton.
She is survived by a niece, Nancy S. Moyer of Newton, Mass.; and three great nephews and one great niece.
There will be no visiting hours.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton.
