Sylvia Brown Moulton Passes Away at 76.

HAMPTON — Well-known Hampton resident Sylvia Brown Moulton, 76, of 16 Naves Road, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at her home.
She was born in Epping on February 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Maurice F. and Helen (Caraway) Brown. She was a graduate of Epping High School and Hesser Building College.
Sylvia served the town of Hampton in several positions, starting in 1968 with the Hampton Police Department as a part-time secretary and policewoman. In 1974, she began employment as a full-time secretary for the Hampton Fire Department, and from 1975-1982 she held the position of clerk and dispatcher for the Hampton Police Department. She retired from the police department in 1984 as a part-time policewoman.
After serving 10 years at the Hampton District Court, where she worked as an administrator of small claims, she retired in 1994.
Sylvia resided in Hampton for 35 years, coming from Epping. She served as organist for the Congregational Church in Epping, the First Baptist Church of Hampton, and was substitute organist at many area churches for many years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hampton, and member of both its choir and bell choir. She was also a member of Tide Mill Chapter #67 O.E.S. of Hampton.
Family members include six children, Wanda Brower of North Smithfield, RI, Donna Michael of Oklahoma City, OK, Sue Valiquet of Exeter, Walter Moulton, Jr., of Tehachapi, CA, Peter Moulton of Hampton, Kim Moulton of Bedford; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Maurice Brown Jr. of Hampton; a cousin, Eleanor Robinson; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Lewis W. Brown, who died in 1997.
Services will be held at the United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in the Central Cemetery, Epping.
