Bernice G. Palmer

HAMPTON – Bernice G. Palmer, 96, of 206 Winacunnet Road, died Sunday, Sept. 8, at Portsmouth Hospital.

Born in Medford, Mass., Jan. 4, 1899, the daughter of Alexander and Harriet (Ansell) Glidden, she graduated from Tufts College, Class of 1910.

She had resided here for more than 70 years.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Hampton and the Ladies Guild of the Church.

She was also a member of the Hampton Monday Club and the Literary Committee.

She was the widow of Charles D. Palmer, who died in 1956.

Family members include one son, Selectman Ansell Palmer of Hampton; one daughter, Rita P. James of Stanley, Idaho; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Ronald A. Remick Funeral Home Tuesday, Sept. 10, with burial in the High Street Cemetery.
