Byron E. Redman

Fort Lauderdale, Florida — Byron E. Redman, 91, a former New Hampshire State Senator and Racing Commissioner, died Sunday, March 29, after an extended illness. He had been a winter resident of Florida for many years.

He was a resident of Hampton the rest of the year, and lived at 405 Winnacunnet Road.

Mr. Redman was the son of the late Edward and Lucy Redman, and was born July 22, 1890 in Hampton.

He was active in both state and civic affairs. Besides serving as state senator and commissioner, he also serves as state representative.

He was a past town moderator and selectman in Hampton. He was a member of the Bektash Temple, the Jesters, and he was a Mason. He was the owner of Byron’s Garage at Hampton Beach.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lucy Brown of Hampton; a brother, Amos Redman of Newburyport, Mass.; a cousin, Mrs. Henry Higgins of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held later at the convenience of the family, with burial at the Hampton Cemetery.
