HAMPTON — Albert A. Ross, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Cambridge, Mass., the son of the late Albert A. and Alice (Russell) Ross. He was raised in Lexington, Mass.

He was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School, and from Suffolk University in Boston, where he was co-captain of the hockey team and vice-president of his senior class.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Ross was co-founder of Olde Lantern Realty and became a prominent New Hampshire Realtor and business man. He was previously a district manager for General Motors before becoming a national representative for an international paper company, based in New York City. He was transferred back to New England and settled in Hampton.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Kelsen) Ross of Hampton; one daughter and her husband, Lisa and Ted Gupton of Fort Worth, Texas; one son, Richard Ross of Hampton; and two step-grandsons.

WE REMEMBER: He was a charter member of the Seacoast Board of Realtors, Seacoast Multiple Listing Service and was elected to every office of the New Hampshire Association of Realtors, becoming president in 1978. After retiring, he served as a consultant to the Real Estate Interests of Omni Hotels.

He was a charter member and president of the Hampton Rotary Club. He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship, Rotary's highest award.

Active in the Episcopal Church, he served on the Vestry of Trinity Church in Hampton and on several committees at St. Andrews By-the-Sea in Rye. He was a founder of the Hampton Ambulance Corps and a director of Family Services in Portsmouth.

Mr. Ross was an avid golfer, skier, tennis and bridge player and was a member of Abenaqui Country Club in Rye for 43 years.

He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.

SERVICES: Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m., in St. Andrews By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Church Road, Rye.
