Parker Ray ("Ray Ray") Russell

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Parker Ray "Ray Ray" Russell, 57, died July 13, 2008, after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 17, 1950, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Parker and Billie (Roberts) Russell. He lived in Hampton until moving to San Diego in 1983.

He graduated from Crotched Mountain School for the Deaf.

Mr. Russell worked at the Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego. He was an active member of the local San Diego Deaf Club.

He is survived by two brothers, Harold E. Russell and his wife, Carol, and their son, Charles, all of San Diego, and Robert D. Russell and his children, Matthew and Melissa Russell, all of Hampton; one sister, Robin H. Damuth, her husband, Michael and their children, Joshua N. Palmer, Hannah and Elizabeth Damuth, all of Doylestown, Pa., and one grand niece, Willow Maree Palmer of Doylestown.

WE REMEMBER: He was an avid sports fan, attending many sporting events in Hampton and in San Diego.

He remained a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics while living in San Diego.

He gathered many friends wherever he was and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Crotched Mountain School for the Deaf, Alumni Association, 1 Verney Drive, Greenfield, NH 03472.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
