Henry St. Germain

Owner of St. Germain’s Jewelry Store — 1955 – 1984

HAMPTON – Henry Albert St. Germain, 80, died Friday, May 2, 2003, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born July 23, 1922, in Amesbury, Mass., the son of the late Roch and Alice (Proulx) St. Germain and had resided in Hampton since 1953.

He was a 1941 graduate of Amesbury High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. St. Germain owned St. Germain’s Jewelry Store in Hampton from 1955 until his retirement in 1984.

He was a charter member of the Hampton Rotary Club and a member of the former Hampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of Abenaqui, Exeter and Portsmouth country clubs. He enjoyed the outdoors including mountain climbing and skiing.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma P. (Carter) St. Germain of Hampton; four children, Henry A. St. Germain Jr. of Lincoln, Neb., Janice Ann St. Germain of Manchester, Michael St. Germain of Brentwood and Vicki Jean St. Germain of Chantilly, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

At Mr. St. Germain’s request there will be no funeral services. The family will have a gathering of remembrance at a later date.
