Ray A. Whitcomb

April 21, 1927 - April 24, 2011

KINGSTON, NH -- Ray A. Whitcomb, 84, of Kingston, NH, died on Easter Sunday, April 24th. Born in Ipswich, MA, on April 21, 1927, the son of Alice Morse Cummings and Frank Earle Whitcomb. Ray worked as an officer of the Hampton Police Department along with his K-9 dog, 'Shep', and retired from Northern Utilities Gas Company.

A member of the Hampton Planning Board, Hamptons' American Legion Post 35, and the Blue Knights. Volunteered on the Nantucket Lightship, and served in both the Merchant Marines and the US Navy in WWII.

Predeceased by his brother, Earle Lyman Whitcomb of Hamilton, MA. Ray leaves behind his wife, June (Thayer) of 62 years, also from Hamilton, MA, his daughter, Jacki Filiault & husband, Gary, of New Boston, his son Bill Whitcomb of Hampton, granddaughters, Oriana and Abbey Filiault a sister-in-law, Betty Gosselin, a brother-in-law, Charles DeGrandpre and numerous loving family and friends.

A memorial service and reception will take place at the United Methodist Church in Hampton, NH on Saturday, April 30th, at 2pm.
