HAMPTON — The Lane Memorial Library held an art exhibit and reception featuring the artwork of the late Ruth Stimson on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
A Hampton resident, Ruth was an enthusiastic and accomplished oil painter and watercolorist. There were more than 40 of her paintings on display in the library's Wheaton Lane Room during the reception. Photos of the reception appear below.
During the first two weeks of December the library held a silent auction of these paintings and drawings at the library and they were all sold to the highest bidders.
