The cost of the “Cafetorium” was defrayed by an $18,000 gift in 1959 from the Hampton Academy Trustees, who secured court permission to use income from an Academy trust fund set up by Charles H. Lane. This gift, from the trust of Mr. Lane, who attended the Academy in the mid-1800s, was dedicated at W.H.S.’s first graduation in June 1959. [Photos by Art Moody ’53)

“CHIEF WINNAWAR”: This 6-foot, full-color statue of the school’s mascot was presented by the class of 1965.
