HAMPTON -- Berg Antiques has enjoyed a positive debut in Hampton over the last two and one half months, says owner Dennis R. Berg. The 7,000 square foot showroom is as beautiful as the high quality antiques found within it. The modified antique post and beam structure is filled with an array of antique and near-antique items. The store specializes in furniture but has a great selection of mechanical devices such as clocks, fog horns, airplane props, automatons (moving figures), bicycles and violins. A large selection of waxed pine wardrobes from Prague are currently available.

The proprietor, Dennis R. Berg, has 15 years of experience buying and restoring high quality American furniture. His extensive experience has enabled him to pack the showroom with furniture that possess a timeless and distinctive look. Berg explained that this look tends to give buyers a greater return on their investment over time. The bottom line is maximizing the value of the customer's dollar.

He stated that the furniture he chooses to sell are pieces that, "appeal to all types of people and will always have a timeless quality and possess solid design standards representative of the periods in which they were produced." The pine, mahogany and oak dining room sets are an alternative to new furniture. The sets are made with real wood which is not always true with today's comparably priced furniture. Consumers will usually pay twice the amount for furniture of the same quality as the antique items Berg sells - and most do not possess the same distinctive looks.

Berg Antiques is constantly expanding the variety and quantity of its inventory, and at the same time fine tunes the quality of what is on the showroom floor. Stop in and shop around because merchandise is moving fast. The hard working employees, Dienna, Ben and Nancy are there to help you and are always willing to answer any questions. For those who don't have room to carry their new purchases, Berg's will supply economical delivery service. Financing is also available.

The antique shop is open Friday thru Monday from 10:00-6:00 on Route 1 (next to Newick's), Hampton. The phone number is (603) 929-4911.
