HAMPTON — For the past 12 years, Richard and Linda Gibbons, owners of Hampton Technical Services, have serviced the telecommunications needs of customers throughout Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

For clients, Hampton Technical Services will provide a variety of electrical and communications services including telephone systems, voice mail and auto attendants, pagers, and local area computer networks.

Having worked in the industry for 33 years, Gibbons has seen telecomcommunications evolve from phone lines that needed as many as 25 wires to completely wireless communications.

The telecommunication services provided by Hampton Technical include much personal attention by Gibbons’ technicians.

“The phone industry is much like the electric industry these days,” said Gibbons. “The utility drops off the service, but it’s up to a private company to provide the specific needs.”.

Clients work closely with their service technician. Gibbons says his staff is very technically oriented. Most of them were trained in telecommunications during military service. They can work around the specific demands of any of his customers.

“Businesses get a very personal relationship with their phone guy, not the phone company but their individual servicemen. We can react quicker to their problems and requests,” said Gibbons.

Their growing customer pool means adding a fifth technician to Gibbons’ staff.

Gibbons is in the process of moving his business, currently at 102 Mace Road, into a new location at 235 Towle Farm Road.

Their 72 foot library of Technical Manuals and some equipment is already being stored at the 2000 square foot facility and Gibbons hopes to be able to move the rest of his office early in the third quarter of the year.

Hampton Technical Services can be contacted at 926-3001 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emergency service is always available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
