HAMPTON — Measurement Technology Limited (MTL), the worldwide leader in hazardous area instrumentation, has launched a new initiative into data acquisition and local area networking for hazardous areas. This in response to the emerging market for an Information Super Highway on the factory floor.
The new home for MTL in North America is in Hampton. MTL expects the business to grow vary rapidly and will supply the new products, created in Hampton, to the world market throughout MTL’s existing sales channels that operate in 70 locations around the world.
Prior to the new products coming on-line, MTL will bring to Hampton products that are manufactured in England and products that MTL moved from a facility they outgrew in Amesbury, Mass.
The president of MTL, Dennis Gilespie, said, “MTL could have moved anywhere, but chose Hampton because of the high caliber work force in the area, the pro-business climate in the state, and the quality of life the area affords for the existing employees.”
Located at 9 Merrill Industrial Drive, Hampton, the company plans to hire 28 employees within the next few months, in addition to their present work force. Gail Hughes, of The Kane Company, Inc., Dover, brokered the lease, assisting MTL with the relocation.
