HAMPTON — With spring comes longer sunnier days and warmer weather. It’s naturally the time to start thinking of outside exercise. Summer’s coming and the great outdoors beckons, but last year’s shorts and bathing suits are a little snug.

You’ve probably tried it all. After all, this is a familiar routine. We all hit the winter months with glee. The holidays start us overeating and the bulky warm clothes hide the results.

Each spring, it’s time to face the music.

It doesn’t have to be that way, though. We don’t have to greet spring with gritted teeth and determination to get in shape. We can stay that way year round with a little help from a personal trainer in fitness.

Personal trainer Mary Lou Dow of “A Better Body, A World of Health” explains:

“Whether is beneficial to make your strength gains and build your endurance so when you exercise outside you can maintain at an athletic level.”

Mary Lou knows her stuff. A practitioner with certifications for customized fitness training for all ages and conditions, she can find the perfect program for you. From informal walking groups to pre/post natal specialized training for the Mom who wants to stay healthy, Mary Lou works with you carefully to design a program that will benefit you and your needs.

For the more athletic group, she also offers triathlon training.

Mary Lou is a familiar voice in the Seacoast. Last summer she was up early at the Hampton Beach Seashell, volunteering physical instruction to vacationers and any one who wanted to exercise in the early morning sun. She also offers Seacoast residents a “World of Health” through her biweekly column printed in local newspapers.

Mary Lou Dow’s “A Better Body, A World of Health” is located at 58 Winnacunnet Road, above Wine Wellness Center, in Hampton. She is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. by appointment only.
