HAMPTON -- The Satellite Agency Network (SAN) Group, Inc., based in Hampton and Swanzey, announced that Matthew P. Masiello has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Masiello has been with the company since 1993, playing key roles in growing the organization to more than 260 members writing in excess of $350 million in premiums in seven states.

SAN Group is now the largest alliance of independent insurance agencies in the northeast.

Masiello has guided the organization through much of its significant growth as COO, including assembling the current management team, developing insurance company relationships, upgrades to technology infrastructure, and enhanced marketing brands and initiatives.

Masiello commented, "It hasn't been easy and it hasn't been fast, but a clear vision and steady course have resulted in a successful organization that continues to provide meaningful benefits to independent insurance agents throughout the Northeast," Masiello said.

"It is very exciting to take over the reins of a thriving organization that serves to grow and increase the independence of participating independent agencies, especially in these challenging times," he said. "I anticipate a continuation of steady growth, despite the economy we're facing.

Masiello attended the University of Maine and is a licensed New Hampshire agent holding the Accredited Advisor of Insurance designation. He was presented with the New Hampshire Business Review's Excellence in Business Award last October.

This recognition is presented to owners and operators of businesses or organizations with 100 or fewer employees who demonstrate leadership in determination, industriousness, innovation and achievements.
