HAMPTON -- OK, ladies, admit it.

There is always that little voice inside your head whenever shopping for a clothing item, even if it's in the deep recesses, asking that eternal, burning question: "Am I going to see another woman wearing this?"

Whether you're at a social gathering or on the street, seeing another woman wearing the same dress, the same jacket, can leave one feeling in one moment trendy and fashionable to the next feeling like just one more item on the markdown rack.

Sheila Fleming knows your pain. And when the doors of her new boutique, All She Wears, opens on Feb. 5, she'll be able to help you avoid the fashion faux pas while looking like the fashion envy of all.

From names like Canvasback, Nueva and Nancy Lucia, the store will feature a variety of mid to upscale clothing and accessories including skirts, blouses, dresses, jackets, trench coats, shoes, handbags and jewelry, sunglasses, gift items and even items for your pet. Fleming brings All She Wears to Hampton after years of buying clothing for another boutique located in Bradford, Mass.

"I've always wanted to do this," said Fleming of her own store's opening. "I feel I have a good eye for fashion. I know what women want."

Now she's going it alone and bringing that eye closer to home.

"So many people have been moving into the area I just thought that a nice, little boutique would be perfect," said Fleming. "It will give another reason for people to come to the village."

And most importantly, Fleming isn't buying her stock in bulk. There will likely be little more than a handful of each item, offering nearly exclusive options. You won't find what you'll find at All She Wears in one of those big box stores.

"I want people to leave here happy," she said. "They'll have a specialty item they're not going to see elsewhere. I want different, unique."

Fleming said she is thankful for all those around her who have told her that the store was the right move for her.

"I thought, if I don't do it, I'll regret it," she said. "I've had a lot of support from family and friends, who have helped me tremendously. "I don't think I would have [opened the store] without their encouragement."

All She Wears is located in historic downtown Hampton at 461 Lafayette Road. The shop can be reached by calling (603) 929-0055.
