As you pick up your tray and walk through the line to choose your food, you can’t help but succumb to the aroma of fresh food that surrounds you. It’s hard to decide what to eat because everything looks so appetizing.

One of a kind restaurant that serves American and Greek cuisine. It feels one of a kind because it’s designed as a cafeteria but its cafeteria style with flair!

Brothers North Restaurant on Rte. 1 in Hampton feels like a one of a kind restaurant that serves American and Greek cuisine. It feels one of a kind because it’s designed as a cafeteria but its cafeteria style with flair! The food is high quality and is brought in fresh every single day. All the food is excellent and the portions are massive, whether its lunch or dinner. And these large portions are at very reasonable prices. Everything is ready to go and the restaurant is very well organized. From the selections out front to the storing of food in the kitchen, everything has order and the restaurant has a system that indeed works. After being open only 5 weeks, the lines are long and already the restaurant has its regular daily customers. Some people love the food so much they don’t go anywhere else to eat!

Here’s what a few folks had to say about Brothers North. “You get a lot to eat, my husband and I love it here, we don’t go anywhere else” says Ann and Bob Tobin. “I like that I can get what I want; healthy, high quality food, plenty of it at a good price” says Bill Sylvester. “We know of restaurant owners and ex-chefs that dine here. They love to eat here” says Peter Lukas who’s been in the restaurant business all his life.

They have moussaka (eggplant casserole) which looks mouth watering and so does the pastitsio (Greek style lasagna) and chicken pie filo. I tried the chicken avgolemono; best I had ever tasted and I’ve had souvlaki in Athens, Greece! But you can also get a burger with French fries or roast turkey with stuffing, roast beef, fresh seafood and salads. Every entree comes with 2 side dishes and there are plenty of vegetables to choose from. And the delectable desserts are to die for! All the pastries are baked fresh every morning and the dessert assortment ranges from many kinds of pies to puddings, cheesecake with strawberries, carrot cake, baklava and much more. As you walk into the restaurant be sure to take a glance at the large glass case towards the left. You’ll notice many more desserts and specialty foods on display. The case has a different variety of foods to choose from every single day.

If you come to the restaurant any day around 11:30 you’ll notice the crowd but the dining room can handle it comfortably. They’ve got their regulars that are in everyday but their clientele also consists of businessmen, people on vacation, many come in for take out and there are just plenty of people there that like good food. The restaurant has a separate bar and lounge area to the left if you’d like beer, wine or a cocktail with your meal. From the lounge you can sit outside on the patio on a beautiful summer’s day and sip your drink. What a great way to spend the evening!

The Brothers Restaurant first started in downtown Danvers, MA with owner, Ted Kougianos and the restaurant brought a lot of business to the area. “Everyone from Lahey Clinic would go there everyday to eat” says Jack and Betty Lessard. “Elderly people would be taken to the restaurant everyday for lunch and they’d take half the food home. They liked the high quality food without the high price.”

Jack Lessard, had originally owned the property that Brothers North now sits on in Hampton. Being a lifelong resident of Hampton he felt the community could benefit from a place like Brothers. Eventually he and Peter Lukas, also a resident of Hampton, convinced Kougianos to buy his property and build another restaurant like the one in Danvers. According to Lessard, “they’ve done the best job on this building. It’s an up scale mini mall and it’s the nicest place in Hampton.”

“For the mini mall we’re looking for the right mix of businesses” says Lukas. They want up scale stores and boutiques opening up alongside Brothers North. Some of the recently opened businesses are Cleary Cleaners, Artichokes and Lucas Greenhouse. They’re in a perfect spot, right on busy Rte. 1 in Hampton, NH.

Brothers North Restaurant and Lounge features home cooked Greek and American cuisine. They’re located at 845 Lafayette Road in Hampton, NH. They’re open for lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm.
