HAMPTON -- For four years, Wendy and Al Szymczycha have offering fresh breakfast and lunch options as well as great coffee at their downtown business, Caffè Fresco.

Now the couple is bringing their successful bistro to a new location: Hampton Beach.

Their new place will be offering coffee and fresh baked goods as well as some lunchtime items.

"It's basically a simplified version of Caffè Fresco," said Al. "It will be all of the breakfast stuff we offer downtown, as well as sandwiches and salads for lunch."

"It's still the same quality," added Wendy. "It will be things that people can grab and go to the beach with."

The business has been open for weekends since Memorial Day, and on June 15 Caffè Fresco on Hampton Beach will be open seven days per week from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The couple said they had the opportunity to open a beach location in the very same place the business now resides years ago not long after they first took over the downtown coffee shop.

"We weren't ready for it," said Wendy. "We wanted to concentrate on the store downtown."

When the opportunity arose a second time, the Szymczychas took it. The beach portion of the business in now affiliated with the Ship's Inn Resort, right across the street.

"They've been really helpful with getting us in," said Wendy.

"We think we can offer their renters the quality they're looking for," Al said.

And the Szymczychas know the beach. The couple each grew up in the area, working at a host of beach businesses.

"We're not unfamiliar with the beach and the hustle and bustle of it all," said Wendy. "We're actually looking forward to it."

The couple is confident that once people know of the new oceanside location they will actively seek out Caffè Fresco at Hampton Beach.

"When we're on vacation I go out of my way and I think a lot of people will do that for a good cup of coffee," Al said.

Where the owners of Caffè Fresco attribute a great deal of their success is in their repeat customers, who traveled to the beach location — when the downtown location was closed on Memorial Day — to help support the business.

"We have a very loyal following and you can't ask for any more than that," said Al. "We appreciate it very much."

You can visit the new location of Caffè Fresco's newest location at the corner of "B" Street and Ashworth Avenue as well as downtown Hampton at 442 Lafayette Road. The shop can be contacted at (603) 926-0023.
