HAMPTON — Looking for an eatery dripping with nostalgia of a simpler time? Come on in to the new place in town where you can enjoy a burger and a shake, 50's style, bring the kids, and forget about the woes of the modern world.

Although this "American Dream" style diner is located in the same building as the old Pizza Hut, across from the Galley Hatch on Route 1 in Hampton, one would never believe that this is the same building. Bright and cheery, immaculate and unique, this novelty restaurant brings you back to the optimistic times of "a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage." As you step through the doors, the décor itself is candy for the eyes. With black and white tiled floors, red and silver V-backed booths, and "Rockin' Robin" playing in the background, you almost expect to see a pair of teenagers in poodle skirts and saddle shoes giggling and sharing a milkshake.

Located conveniently across from the Hampton Cinemas, this quaint, non-smoking, family-friendly atmosphere is a great place to enjoy a traditional hand-pattied burger or hot fudge sundae before the show. Breakfast is served daily from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. and lunch is served after 11 a.m.

Executive Chef, Sarah Chaplin, formerly of the Beach House Restaurant, tempts your palate with menu items that include conventional, delicious fare. Meatloaf dinners, fried chicken sandwiches, heaping salads, and banana splits are just a few of the offered favorites. For breakfast, try pancakes or French toast, or create your own omelet. They pride themselves on their freshness across the board.

Opened only one month ago, co-owners Eric Rush (of Rush Realty) and Bryan Swan have had a wonderful reception from the community.

"People have come from far and wide to see what we are all about", says Bryan, former chef at Little Jack's and Maggiano's. When asked what prompted this unique endeavor, Eric says that he was inspired by a little diner down the road from his alma mater, and really felt there was a need for a place like this in this area.

"It has been a passion for a while," says Eric.

Excited to have their dream come to life after much hard work and planning, their enthusiasm is contagious, and evident in all the details. From the immaculate, inviting atmosphere and great food, to the carefully chosen memorabilia adorning the walls, Fast Eddie's has all the ingredients of an enterprise with longevity.

Their official Grand Opening will be announced within the next month, and they plan on expanding their hours to include dinner within the near future. The menu is already expanding to include even more specialties, and with each passing day, Fast Eddie's is only getting better. They are located at 320 Lafayette Road in Hampton and can be reached at (603) 926-2314. Their hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the week and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends (closed Tuesdays). Take-out is also available. Come on down and find out what all the buzz is about!
