HAMPTON -- For more than eight years Liz and Bill "Sully" Sullivan have been expertly meeting the eye-care needs of the Seacoast and beyond.

Opticians by trade, the Sullivans and part-time optician Sara Funk, are committed to fulfilling their clients' needs by combining their expert skills together with the finest vision products available on the market today.

Whatever your vision needs may be — from the exam, to single vision, bi-or tri-focal and contact lens fitting, to on-site repairs, Hampton Vision offers expert, friendly service and the convenience of their Depot Square, Hampton facility.

"It's really important to us that we do the job right and that our customers are satisfied," said "Sully" Sullivan.

Hampton Vision also staffs a full-time optometrist, Dr. K. B. Boyer.'Dr. Boyer sees patients daily for eyesight evaluation and is a certified consult-ant for laser surgery. Beyond that, Dr. Boyer is qualified to perform post-operative exams and to provide follow-up care for laser surgery patients.

It is no mystery why customers return time and again to the full service vision center. Offering an impressive and extensive assortment of eyewear products including, among many others, Fendi, DKNY, Paul Gauthier, Jones New York, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and newest addition Fuga, the Sullivans boast a very healthy and loyal customer base — and they want to keep those customers happy. "We have to carry a selection that will accommodate everyone," Sullivan said.

Undaunted by splashy come-ons offered by the large mall chains, the Sullivans believe Hampton Vision's personal approach to eye care is the way to best serve the needs of their customers. "A lot of people are misled by the chains," Sullivan said. "Liz, Sara and I have all worked for the chains and know their pricing structure. Most independents are less expensive [and] the chains are limited to selling only what they have in inventory," he explained.

But that is not the case with Hampton Vision. Not only does Hampton Vision offer a myriad of eyewear choices including special orders, but it also offers just as wide a variety of price options. With frames running anywhere from $29.00 to $1,000.00, the opticians take special care with each customer to ensure they go home satisfied. "We use the best quality lens and frame combinations and take time to determine which lens, frame, and shape are best suited to the individual," Sullivan said. "We consider the overall look," he said.

"We take more time with people because there are so many options available to them in terms of styles, lenses and coatings," Sullivan explained. "We want them to be aware of what choices they have," Sullivan said.

Sullivan believes it is important to have an experienced and professional optician go through the selection process with the customer. The opticians at Hampton Vision Center routinely take continuing education courses in order to keep their skills honed and their certifications current. The Sullivans also frequent conventions and trade shows in an effort to maintain a cutting edge inventory and will soon be traveling to France to attend an international vision show. Hampton Vision Center offers more than eyewear choices and personalized, professional care — quick turnaround. "Most single vision lenses we do in the same day," Sullivan explained. "And probably 90% of our orders we turn around the next day."

Hampton Vision Center is open Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon. The doctor sees patients daily. Call for an appointment at 926-2722.
