When it comes to variety, style, quality and service, Hampton Vision Center has been offering their customers the absolute very best for almost a decade. And since Hampton Vision expanded in the spring of 2000, they have been able to provide even more of what their customers have come to expect from the business, conveniently located in the heart of Hampton's Depot Square.

"We more than doubled our space to offer a more extensive selection," says Bill "Sully" Sullivan, who with his wife Liz run the business and are two of the four skilled board-certified opticians (Sarah Funk and Alison Bisognani are the others) who collectively share many years of experience in their profession. Also on staff is optometrist Dr. K.B. Boyer, providing his patients full routine eye exams, follow-ups, Lasik surgery consultations, and prescriptions. Together the people at Hampton Vision Center furnish excellent care and service for the vision needs of those throughout the Seacoast area.

Hampton Vision Center's expanded optical showroom holds display after fashionable display of frames to suit any taste and budget, featuring such popular lines as Casanova, Christian Dior, Vogue, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Ralph Lauren and Fuga. Styles ranging from classic to novel -- and plenty in-between -- are available for the choosing.

"We go to vision shows all over the US and the world," says Sully, who lists vendors from Germany, France, Italy and Denmark as those with whom they do their overseas business. Sully notes that many of the same excellent styles and quality found in similar businesses in big cities like Boston are available at Hampton Vision Center, without the big city price tag. It's the same compared to what is offered at national vision center chains such as those found in a mall-type location. "Our prices are less," says Sully.

Satisfaction is always a top priority at Hampton Vision Center, and customers can be assured that along with excellent service, they will be provided an excellent finished product. "We use the finest quality lens, frames and coatings," says Sully. A variety of lens coatings is available, including antireflective, UV protection and anti-scratch coatings. Antireflective coatings are "a big benefit for night driving," says Sully, who adds that such coatings don't break down, they're easier to clean, and don't smudge as easily. Plus, from a cosmetic point of view, "it looks better."

Those who need bifocals no longer need to put up with lenses with "lines" across the surface. Hampton Vision Center offers Progressive lenses which allow the wearer to not only clearly see both distance and up close, but in between, too. The advantage is that "You're getting vision at different distances," says Sully. And while traditional bifocal lenses can be difficult to get used to wearing, there are "very few people who can't adapt" to Progressives.

Hampton Vision Center also carries a very extensive selection of fashionable and functional sunglasses (Maui Jim, Ray Ban and Bucci are just a few of the brands), and is a provider of OSHA-approved industrial safety glasses. Customers from children to Senior Citizens are bound to find just the right pair of glasses they need, and a variety of brands of contact lenses are also available for those who prefer them over glasses.

Service to their customers is of utmost importance to the folks at Hampton Vision Center. "We try to take more time with people, to explain the options they have," says Sully. There's not much of a wait time, either. "All the glasses we make are [ready] within a day or two turnaround," he explains. Special orders are not a problem, and neither are orders on drill-mounted (rimless) frames. In-house and outside prescriptions are both welcome, and if any unexpected eyeglass repairs or adjustments are needed, a member of the staff is happy to take care of them.
