HAMPTON — Hampton Natural Foods has found a new, more spacious home just a hop, skip and a jump down the road from their former location. Now located at 580 Lafayette Road (Route 1) in Hampton, this brand new store opened on December 27 and has much more room to showcase the many all-natural offerings as well as the expanded eat-in or take-out organic soup, sandwich and salad bar.

Owner Fran Foster began her business in 1984, making this her 20th year. Specializing in retail natural foods, dietary supplements, natural body care products — and now with a new "From Scratch" organic kitchen facility and seating area — they are a one-stop shop for all of your natural resources.

Elise Church (Chef), Kathy Kopala (Manager) and Fran Foster (Owner) will soon be celebrating the

In addition, they house an extensive array of books on topics like Natural Health, Home Remedies, Healing, and Cooking. Fran says that her customers love to read and are ravenous for research materials such as these. Also offered are soothing CDs which play overhead as you shop and are the musical choices that massage therapists love to purchase for use in their sessions.

Hampton Natural Foods offers a wide selection of dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids, protein powders, anti-oxidants, and homeopathic remedies as well as low-carb and gluten-free foods. If you have any questions about any of these products, Manager Kathy Kopala and their knowledgeable staff are always eager to assist you with information.

Also holding a Masters degree in Psychology, Fran is a strong advocate of encouraging people to find natural substances to maintain health pro-actively and to prevent and/or improve mental, physical and emotional illnesses. She is very happy to talk with her customers and advise them on the best plan of action for whatever remedies they seek.

Hampton Natural Foods has an incredible dried bulk herb section with such a fast turnover rate that the herbs are always fresh — and are only a fraction of the cost of packaged spices. A really big hit among customers is the peanut butter-making machine. No oils or preservatives are added in to make this delicious spread. It is the roasted peanuts alone that are used to make this — right before your eyes.

Fran, who also has a certification in Nutrition from the Health Science University in Aurora, Colorado, says it is an honor to feed the community good, pure food. Since opening the new store, they have expanded their kitchen to include offerings like homemade organic Shepherd's Pie made with free-range turkey, quiche, fresh baked goodies, sandhumus, hummus wraps, tofu salad pockets and, in warmer weather, savory avocado and sprout sandwiches.

Every Wednesday is Vegetarian Chili day, and they also offer such tasty soups as Spicy Chick Pea and Organic Kale and Potato. They also recently began offering fresh Sushi and Spring Rolls as another lunchtime option. Fran and her Natural Foods Chef, Elise Church, work hard at maintaining quality, consistently fresh and healthy options for their valued patrons.

In honor of Hampton Natural Food's grand opening at their new location, they will be hosting an Open House on March 13-14 from 12-4 p.m.. The event will include a free wine and cheese tasting (yes, they even offer organic wines), and such health professionals as acupuncturist, massage therapists, and Dr. Carol Robinson, a naturopathic physician from Newburyport, all of whom will be giving demonstrations, offering information and answering questions. Plus, the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a ribbon cutting at noon on Saturday, March 13.

Hampton Natural Foods is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. They can be reached at (603)926-5950; stay tuned for their Web site, which will be coming soon.
