HAMPTON BEACH — Just about a month ago, Kevin Derrivan and his family opened their second Rosie’s Ice Cream location. This one is located at 7 “A” Street at Hampton Beach, and has created a great place to stop by while visiting the beach for the day.
Presenting a family style, beach-casual atmosphere and offering everything from steak tip dinners and salads to frappes, slushes and sundaes to beer and wine, Rosie’s Ice Cream and Grill has something for the whole family.
After a couple hours in the sun, stroll on down to Rosie’s to cool off. Their welcoming environment and friendly staff will make you feel very comfortable. Grab a bite like some buffalo fingers or their special “devil chili dog” featuring two, foot-long hot dogs on bulkie rolls heaping with chili. Drop a coin in the jukebox and play a game of pool or a video game while you enjoy an ice cold $1.99 draft (featured every day). Or, catch the score of the game in the cool air conditioning while you recharge your batteries.
Still hungry? Try Rosie’s “Make Your Own Sundae” bar with free toppings. Choose from one of their 20 flavors of Richardson’s ice creams and frozen yogurts like Milky Way, Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup or Oreo Cookie and pile it high with toppings like Heath Bar, hot fudge, jimmies, gummy candies, strawberries, pineapple — and, of course, whipped cream on top! Don’t worry if you didn’t bring any cash to the beach; they have an ATM machine on site as well as very tidy restrooms.
Kevin, formerly a CFO for Capworld, decided he wanted a change of pace almost a year ago. That is when he and his wife, Kelly, decided to go into the ice cream business. They purchased Rosie’s Ice Cream and Sweets in Peabody, Massachusetts, where Kevin and his family are originally from. Their children Kara, age 8, Keith, 6, and Kristina, 1, are delighted with their parents’ choice to open a second location so close to the beach. So far, business has been booming due to good food, reasonable prices and a fun atmosphere.
Rosie’s Ice Cream and Grill is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. for breakfast, lunch, dinner (and sundaes!) seven days a week. Their full menu is offered all day long and they often run dinner specials like a steak tip meal with a salad for only $6.95. They can be reached at (603) 926-2103 and also offer a full take-out menu. Take a stroll down “A” Street this summer, and “Make Everyday Rosie’s”!
