The long awaited move for staff of Seacoast Media Group is finally over, and as of Monday news personnel for the Exeter News-Letter, Hampton Union and The Rockingham News will work out of the new building at Pease Tradeport.

The company's two locations in Stratham and Portsmouth will consolidate into the new building in three phases.

Employees at the Stratham office, which include the New Hampshire weeklies editorial department, the Stratham business office, circulation, marketing, and human resources, will move today into the new building.

The general and advertising fax number is 427-0550, for the editorial department it's 433-5760, and for classified it's 436-1917.

Fabrizio said the move will usher in a new and exciting era for the Exeter News-Letter, Hampton Union and The Rockingham News.

"We are thrilled about the opportunities provided by a modern building and new state-of-the-art press," Fabrizio said. "Our new press will allow for the best presentation of content available to newspapers today with expanded and improved use of color photographs, graphics and advertisements."

Fabrizio said the consolidated operations would allow Seacoast Media Group to improve communications and planning efforts among all of its publications. Along with the move to its new headquarters, Seacoast Media Group will continue to use technology to improve its ability to provide news and special content.

"Reporters will use laptop computers with high-speed Internet connectivity, allowing them greater flexibility in reporting breaking news and meeting coverage from the towns they cover," Fabrizio said. "The new building is one of the final and most important pieces in enabling our staff to do the very best they can to provide unmatched coverage of their local communities."

The rest of staff for Seacoast Media Group will move into the new location by the end of February.

The Exeter News-Letter moved from its longtime location on Water Street to the Stratham building in May 1989.

The Hampton Union moved from its Depot Square location to the Stratham building just last year.
