HAMPTON -- Gastroenterology Professional Association, the largest independent gastroenterology practice in northern New England, recently opened its third location at 55 High St.

Gastroenterologists specialize in digestive disorders of the stomach and intestines.

"We opened the new office, our third in the area, to provide more convenient service to the southern Seacoast as well as the Newburyport and northeastern Massachusetts areas," said Dr. Aristotle Damianos, who joined GPA in 2001. "The office is unique in the Seacoast in that it also offers evening hours for added convenience to our patients — a service all of us in the practice feel was greatly needed in the area. With nine physicians, and three office locations, there is no need for people to wait to receive expert GI care."

Dr. Marylyn Grondin will lead the Hampton office. In addition to Damianos, she is joined by Drs. Jaime Baquero and Brian Hyett.

"We have the largest collective experience in the area of treating patients with a wide range of GI disorders, including acid reflux, ulcers, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, as well as problems involving the liver, gallbladder and pancreas," said Grondin.

Hyett noted that March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and patients can schedule a colonoscopy by calling the office.

Gastroenterology Professional Association has served the Seacoast of New Hampshire and southern Maine since 1973. With offices in Portsmouth, Somersworth and now Hampton, the practice is affiliated with Portsmouth Regional, Exeter, Wentworth-Douglass, Frisbie Memorial and York hospitals, as well as the Stratham and Portsmouth Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
