HAMPTON — A popular local coffee chain announced it has sold one of its locations and will soon reopen its other storefront with some fairly substantial changes.

Jumpin’ Jack’s Java has sold its location at 836 Lafayette Road to Aroma Joe’s, according to a Facebook message posted by company owners Nick and Michelle Birmbas.

The company’s other location, Jumpin’ Jack’s Java Express Café at 333 Ocean Blvd., has been closed since it was heavily damaged during a large winter storm in January. The Birmbas family has posted on Facebook that a “new look” and menu is coming to the Hampton Beach café when it reopens “by April 1.”

“2014 is going to be the best year ever for Jumpin’ Jack's Java,” reads the Facebook post. “When we reopen (after) the renovation we will have our NEW lunch menu, Sandwiches, Soups and Salads. Can't wait to reopen and see all our smiling faces back at Jack's.”

Nick and Michelle Birmbas couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.

The Birmbas family first opened the Lafayette Road location, which was the original Jumpin’ Jack’s, in 2005. The building was later sold, but the Birmbas family reacquired it and revamped it last June, turning it into Jumpin’ Jill’s.

The Hampton Beach location has to be fully renovated due to the storm damage, and the work has been documented through a variety of pictures and updates on the business’ Facebook page. Many residents and customers have posted that they will miss the Lafayette Road location, although most are also excited to see what’s in store for the Hampton Beach café.

The Birmbas family has posted that all Jumpin’ Jill’s gift cards will be accepted at Jumpin’ Jack’s, and that additional updates will be posted on Facebook and at JumpinJacksJava.com.
