 Ginni McNamara, director of special events at the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, has started her own business, Painting Posh.

 HAMPTON - In her spare time, Ginni McNamara, director of special events at the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, is an artist. Painting, specifically, is her passion. McNamara’s flair for events combined with her artistic skills has come together in the form of Painting Posh, a paint party business that she started.

Participants can “chat, sip, eat, paint” and have fun as McNamara leads a painting session.

“My passion was always being creative in everything,” McNamara said when asked about why she started Painting Posh.

McNamara’s background is in art – she used to design art programs and teach them at Seacoast recreation departments. She has also taught adult education programs at Exeter and Winnacunnet High School.

As McNamara’s daughter grew older and she had more time, she became the designer and coordinator of classes at Ben Franklin Crafts in Hampton. When it went out of business, she joined the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce as their event director.

Still, McNamara craved something that would really utilize all of her talents and make her happy. Painting Posh happened to be the perfect combination of event planning and art. She started reaching out to people she knew, and they began to book parties. Soon, the word spread.

McNamara offers customized party packages to various venues. Additionally, individuals and groups can sign up for her themed parties, typically held at restaurants. In May, for example, she held a successful “Martini Glass Painting and Pasta Party” at Capri Seaside Italian Grill & Bar.

“We have a really good time,” McNamara said. In addition to painting, participants can get prizes from small raffles McNamara holds during events. She sees a lot of returning customers.

Each of her parties has a different theme. When asked what type of people she would recommend a paint party to, she said “everybody – it’s just fun. They don’t have to be perfect, they don’t even have to be artistic. Have a few drinks, laugh with your friends.”
