HAMPTON - Owning a sports car isn’t always realistic, but a new business in Hampton will let customers rent one for a day.

Seacoast Exotic Car Rentals, LLC, offers customers use of a high-end sports car for as long as a week’s vacation or as little as a morning drive up the coast.

The service has two cars, an orange Lamborghini Gallardo SE and a yellow 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z51 Stingray.

A four-hour drive costs $800 in the Lamborghini, $1,500 for eight hours, $1,800 for 24 hours and $6,000 for a week-long rental package.

Rates are a bit cheaper for the Corvette, at $350 for four hours, $600 for eight, $800 for 24 and roughly $3,000 for the week.

Rentals come with a fixed number of miles, depending on the package.

Driving a sports car is quite a feeling, said Ryan Cohen, 21, who opened the business in May with his father, Bob Cohen, owner of Cohen’s Jewelers in Hampton.

“You feel like you got a lot more power in you. Like you got a lot more prestige,” Ryan Cohen said. “It makes for a great scenic adventure along the Seacoast.”

Cohen said he’s grown up with fast cars. A Dodge Viper and Porsche have passed through his father’s garage. His dad even spent three years building a Factory 5 GTM.

But it wasn’t until last June that the Cohens started talking about starting a rental business. They already had the Lamborghini, and last year they bought the Corvette, enough to start renting.

“We’ve always had a passion for cars,” Cohen said. “We wanted to share the luxury experience we have gotten from our exotic cars and share it with our clients.”

Cohen said they hope to add a third car soon, and hopefully a car a year.

Rentals can come with a GPS and three guided routes around the Seacoast for those who are new to the area.

The service comes with a hefty security deposit of $1,500 for the Corvette, $5,000 for the Lamborghini.

But Cohen said business has been good since the opening, including a wedding and an anniversary.

“It’s great for special occasions,” Cohen said.
