Former Fire Chief George Hartford Lamott was honored at a testimonial dinner given him by the Hampton Firemen's Relief Association last night at the Hampton Beach fire station.

Lamott was presented with a gift of money from the organization as a token of appreciation for his many years of service with the Hampton Beach Fire department. Lamott was fire chief for more than 20 years, being promoted to that position in 1937. He retired September 1 of this year due to ill health.

Also honored at last night's turkey dinner was Bernard R. Felch, retired fireman, who was presented with a wrist watch inscribed, "From the Hampton Beach Fire department for 20 years service."

Chief Perley R. George was master of ceremonies at the banquet. He introduced guests including state Fire Marshal Aubrey G. Robinson and his two deputies, Hampton selectmen and town manager, precinct commissioners, and acting chief of police Lloyd C. Ring. More than 30 call firemen attended the banquet and the meeting which followed.

Chief George presided at the meeting of the relief association at which time officers for the coming year were elected. Peter Tilton was elected president, Howard Stickney vice president, Kenneth Myers secretary, and Richard Fitts, treasurer.
