HAMPTON — Maureen Duffy is leaving her post as the town's administrative assistant to the town manager.

Duffy handed in her resignation two weeks ago after accepting a job as communications director for the New Hampshire Farm Bureau.

"What attracted me to the job was that it was a communications job and it allows me to get back to agriculture," Duffy said. Before coming to Hampton, Duffy worked for the Alberta Sheep & Wool Commission in Canada.

While she is going to miss the people she has worked with for the last 2½ years, one thing she said she won't miss is writing up minutes for the weekly selectmen's meeting.

"It's like reliving the meeting all over again," Duffy said. "And it's every week."

Her last official day on the job is Feb. 28.
