HAMPTON -- Richard L. Montgomery of 42 Locke Road recently accepted the first HAMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY COMMEMORATIVE PLATE from John M. Holman, Curator of the Tuck Memorial Museum.

The plates are dedicated to the memory of Mr. Montgomery's wife, Chris, who gave freely of her time and energy to the Hampton Historical Society without any thought of personal gain or reward.

The striking, attractive 10-inch dinner plate is issued in Meeting House "Green" color, with the stately seal of the Town of Hampton in the center, surrounded with historical scenes of an earlier Hampton.

For those who sent in an advance order, may pick them up at the home of Mr. & Mrs. John M. Holman, 17 Watson's Lane, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and pay the pre-issue order price of only $3.00 each.

If you did not order a plate, but would now like one, a few are available for $3.50 each while the limited supply lasts. This is a limited edition and once the supply is gone, there will be no more.

[One of the commemorative plates has been donated to the Lane Memorial Library and can be seen in the "New Hampshire" room along with another commemorative plate titled "The Transportation Era of Hampton" issued later.]
