HAMPTON -- With a heartwarming feel around every corner and in every room, the "new" Victoria Inn Bed and Breakfast has a charming appeal that makes the perfect place for seemingly every occasion.

Under new ownership and new management, the historic Inn recently underwent a total and tantalizing renovation, restoring the "Victorian" feel while meshing modern amenities.

While the Victoria Inn mains a delightful target for tourists to relax in comfort a mere half-mile walk from Hampton Beach, it is also the perfect place for locals to relish in all that the building and grounds have to offer.

Be it weddings, birthday parties, bridal or baby showers, family reunions, businesses seminars, retirement parties, even lobster bakes or pig roasts, the Victoria Inn and its onsite Annex offer the perfect party plot.

"The new owners have come in and updated it and completely renovated it, and it is just beautiful," says General Manager Pamela Ferguson, who oversees day-to-day operations at the Inn, for owners Aaron and Maureen Brown of Exeter.

"The atmosphere is relaxed and comforting, and inspired by the Victorian lifestyle."

There are overnight accommodations for 14 guests at the inn, including six rooms, two queen rooms and two king suites.

Wedding parties often rent the entire building, and hold the "big event" on the luxurious surrounding grounds with the picturesque pavilion in the gardens.

The Victoria Inn is already booking now for the 2010 and 2011 wedding seasons.

"Many people don't realize that we're not just open for the summer season. We host weddings right through October or longer, weather permitting, and the pavilion is easily heated," Ferguson says.

Functions inside the main building can accommodate up to 50 people, while the charming annex can host 128 seated and up to 250 guests standing.

The exclusive on-site (and also off-site) catering featuring Mahalos Catering, offers a long list of delicious appetizers, salads and entrees, plus the finest desserts to be found anywhere. The Victoria Inn is unique in the fact that it holds a full liquor license, so that a full-stocked bar can be served at any event.

Mahalos Catering will work personally with each client to customize the menu and the function coordinator can recommend linens, flowers, entertainment, and every other detail to make the event perfect for all in attendance.

Speaking of entertainment, this summer — for the first time — the Victoria Inn is hosting "Friday Reggae" every Friday evening in the annex, starting at 7 p.m., with live reggae music by local talents and a barbecue dinner by Mahalos Catering all for one low cover charge.

Been to the Victoria Inn before? Now, with the recently-completed renovations, it's the perfect time to pay a visit and see all that the inn has to offer today.

"Everyone who stays here says they really feel 'at home.' When they're here, they're just so happy," Ferguson says. "People stop in all the time, just because they want to see what it looks like now. Or because they have relatives coming to town and they don't have room in their home and they're looking for someplace special for them to stay." Ferguson encourages such informal visits, of course. "Come on by and see us," she says with a smile.

The Victoria Inn is located at 430 High Street (Route 27E) in Hampton. For info, call (603) 929-1437, or visit www.thevictoriainn.com.
