Moving Wall Memorial to Visit Seacoast
On June 6-11, 2001, the traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (“The Wall That Heals”) will be on exhibit at the Pease International Tradeport. Hamptons Post 35 members will participate by posting an honor guard. All members are urged to visit and pay homage to the veterans who are honored by this moving memorial.
“IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES WHO SERVED IN THE VIETNAM WAR. THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES AND OF THOSE WHO REMAIN MISSING ARE INSCRIBED IN THE ORDER THEY WERE TAKEN FROM US”.

Installation of Officers
place at the monthly meeting of May 21st at 7:00 P.M.
The following were elected to serve:

Presiding over the installation ceremony will be a delegation from
District 3 Headquarters, lead by District Commander Roland Patnode.
Fifty Year Continuous Service Awards
This year, three of our comrades achieved the distinction of completing a half century of continuous membership and service to the American Legion:

* Francis R. Nownes
Presentation of their service awards will be made at the May 21st meeting. Our respect, appreciation and best wishes go out to these comrades.
Veterans Health Services
Portsmouth Outpatient Clinic
Are you getting the veterans services to which you’re entitled?
All veterans who have a service connected disability of 10% or more, are eligible for the following:
* Free medical care.
* Prescriptions for a $2 co-payment.
* Free eye exams and glasses.
* Free hearing aids.
Most other veterans are also eligible to receive their prescriptions for a $2 co-payment, although some must make a co-payment for medical care. Veterans are required to see a VA health care provider to get their prescriptions.
It’s important that veterans be aware of and use their benefits. To determine your eligibility for services, contact:
