Invocation read by Hamptons American Legion Post #35 Chaplain, John Holman at this year’s Veterans Day ceremonies. {Written by Lynn A. Davis, Patchogue, NY, for American Legion Post 35 of Hampton, NH.}
“We are gathered to honor those whose service to our country has forwarded the cause of freedom. So often through the passage of time we take for granted the service and the cause to which these fellow Americans have risked their lives. We are here today to recognize the actions of these noble Americans. The ceremony today, will hopefully in some small way, bring hope to those who have served and move future generations to carry the torch forward. Unite today to remember the actions of those past and present in the cause of freedom and the mission of democracy. Those who serve today pave the road for another generation to bring forward the values of our forefathers and to preserve the most sacred of all our beliefs, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. God Bless the United States of America and God bless us all.”
