TAKE 2 FOR A DEDICATION -- Karen Fralich of Burlington Ontario Canada, the current world champion of sandsculpting works on her rendition of "The Lady" statue, which is a tribute to her late sister. Her sister passed away while she was at the first Hampton Beach competition, forcing Karen to leave before she had gotten far on that attempt of recreating "The Lady". With her entry "Enchanted Encounter" she went on to tie for the Sculptor's Choice award with "Red Tape" (By Thomas Koet) and she won the People's Choice and First Place in the competition. Ironically -- her staue of the The Lady was the first one demolished when they took down sthe sand sculptures on Friday morning, J:uly 1, 2005.
