The main subject of the probate has the term “probate of” after their name. Married daughters are indexed under both their married and maiden names. Maiden names are given in parenthesis when they are indexed under their married names. When indexed under their maiden nam es, the reference, for example, (m. Marston), denotes their married name. Many of these names appear more than once per page, and often they are buried in the text as neighbors of the deceased, so they may be hard to find. It is not uncommon for the names to be misspelled in the original text, so using your browser’s find feature won’t always work.
