The Class of 1943 was particularly hard hit by World War II. Three of its 14 male graduates — Richard W. Blake and Robert K. White of Hampton and Robert G. Lord of Hampton Falls — were killed while in the Armed Forces. Also, George E. Page died shortly before graduation and was awarded a diploma posthumously. Thirty-one members of the class are pictured in the above composite. The 32nd member, Bob Lord, joined the service before graduation and was awarded his diploma in absentia.
