Natalie B. Hockenhull, 82, of Hampton, died peacefully, Friday September 17, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Danforth, ME April 9, 1928 and was raised in Orono, ME graduating from Orono High School with the class of 1946. She shared 61 loving years of marriage with her husband, Robert I. Hockenhull.

She made her home in Hampton since 1954 and was an active member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Throughout the years she enjoyed organizing and hosting many church functions with her friends. She was a long term member of the United Methodist Women’s group. In her earlier years she was a member of the Hampton Mother’s Circle. Mrs. Hockenhull was employed as a secretary at the Winnacunnet Superintendent’s Office for 15 years retiring in 1985.

Natalie’s love for her family was most important to her. She also had a large circle of life long friends. She was known for entertaining and making people welcome in her home. She enjoyed traveling and her bridge, knitting, sewing and coffee groups. She was a competitive dominoes player with her family. Her zest for life, her smile, and blue eyes will never be forgotten.

In addition to her husband of Hampton, family members include her daughter, Pamela Hockenhull Ford of Hampton, son, Robert I. Hockenhull, Jr. and wife Janey of Fort Lauderdale, FL. daughter, Deborah H. Mattos and husband Jay of Silver Spring, MD, daughter Cynthia H. McCahill and husband Kevin of Medfield, MA, five grandchildren, Robert I. Hockenhull, III, Amanda Hockenhull, Matthew, Jack and Julia McCahill, great-grandson, Gage Hockenhull, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Earlene Allen.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday, September 20, 2010 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the United Methodist Church of Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. If desired, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.
