HAMPTON BEACH -- Both locals and visitors to Hampton Beach know that Ron's Landing at Rocky Bend is the place to go when they're in the mood for spectacular oceanfront dining in an elegant yet casual and comfortable atmosphere.

With its tasteful décor, subtle lighting, and extensive menu, Ron's Landing is a summer favorite as well as a year-round one. And though its original namesake -- Executive Chef Ron Boucher -- passed ownership of the popular restaurant several months ago to his brother and longtime business partner Bob Boucher, patrons can still expect the same exquisite dining experience and courteous, friendly service that they have enjoyed for years.

In addition to its beautiful beachfront location, award-winning wine list and weekly specials, Ron's Landing boasts a dinner menu that draws satisfied customers back again and again. Specializing in "traditional New England fare with a Mediterranean flair," Ron's Landing offers a tantalizing assortment of appetizers, soups and chowders; salads; seafood and pasta dinners; beef, veal and poultry entrees; and delectable signature dishes.

For starters, try the Crab, Artichoke and Spinach Dip Appetizer, accompanied by assorted crackers, or the tempting Fried Calamari served with a choice of marinara or tartar sauce. Select from the traditional (Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail) to the exotic (Escargot in Garlic Brandy Butter) to the innovative (Seafood Nachos with shrimp, scallops and black bean salsa over homemade nacho chips). Whatever the appetizer choice, it's a delicious place to begin any meal at Ron's Landing.

Ready for the next course? Try the Mediterranean Filet of Sole, baked with onions, peppers, tomatoes, garlic and olives, fragrantly finished with chopped basil and served with pesto linguine. The Lazy Man's Lobster Pie comes complete with fresh native lobster meat that's baked with butter and topped with seasoned panko crumbs. Ravioli stuffed with sautéed shrimp, sea scallops and lobster, tossed in a sherried lobster cream and served with steamed spinach makes for a new twist on an old Italian favorite.

Because seafood is a specialty at Ron's Landing, patrons can enjoy it ocean-fresh every single day. The selections include filet of sole, Atlantic salmon, jumbo shrimp, yellowfin tuna, haddock, swordfish, sea scallops and halibut. Make a choice, then have it deliciously prepared according to preference: sizzling baked Boston-style, with seasoned breadcrumbs; blackened Cajun-style, pan-seared Szechaun-style with an orange glaze; and grilled or broiled, with a fresh garlic and basil pesto rub.

Have more of a landlubber's appetite? Then be sure to try the Steak Marchand d'Vin, a tasty portion of grilled or blackened sirloin, topped with a red wine butter sauce and crumbled bleu cheese. And what could be more mouthwatering than the Petite Filet Mignon and Maryland Crab Cake Combo, Oven Roasted Asian Duck, or the Chicken Portobello - the latter served as two boneless breasts of chicken over mushroom caps and topped with a port wine demiglace and crumbled bleu cheese.

Then there's the Signature Dishes - an amazing Surf & Turf, the Seafood Florentine Pie (sea scallops, shrimp and lobster baked in Florentine sauce); and Veal Pistachio are but a few of the specialties to be found at Ron's Landing. Be sure to check out the wine list, too, featuring quality wines from around the world and providing the perfect Chardonnay, Burgundy, Pinot Grigio, Zinfandel and others to complement any dish from the menu.

In addition to the beautiful two-level dining areas, Ron's Landing features an inviting lounge with a full bar and live musical performances on Sundays from 2-5 p.m. and Fridays from 7-10 p.m. Arrangements can be made for special occasions, business functions, private parties and business meetings. Everything on the menu at Ron's Landing is available for take-out, and gift certificates are always available.
