HAMPTON – A three-alarm blaze at 615 Ocean Boulevard destroyed four newly renovated condominium units at Holiday Shores Condominiums Monday night.

“At the east end four condo units under construction were engulfed in flames and received heavy damage,” said Fire Inspector Steven Bancewicz.  He said that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

According to Bancewicz, the alarm came into the station at 5:30 p.m. and the second and third alarms were sounded at 5:42 p.m.  Other stations responding to the fire scene included North Hampton, Seabrook, Exeter and Salisbury Mass.

While fighting the blaze, two firefighters received minor injuries and were transported to Exeter Hospital said Bancewicz.  The inspector said the fire was under control a few hours later and Hampton retuned to the station at 10:18 p.m.

The Holiday Shores Condominiums, containing 23 units, is owned by Allen Morgan of 549 Ocean Blvd., Hampton.  Morgan could not be reached for comment at press time Tuesday.

Back on Sept. 23, 1985, Morgan took out a building permit for $105,000 to add a second-story wood-frame addition and to remodel the first floor of the Holiday Shores Condominiums.

According to Hampton Assessor’s office, several condominium units had been sold at Holiday Shores.  A sign out in front of the building listed Betty LaBranche Real Estate Agency as having office space available for sale in the structure.
