This season featured a mixture of everything … popular musicals; STOP THE WORLD …, SOUND OF MUSIC, AND A FUNNY THING … Arthur Miller’s AFTER THE FALL was a dramatic hit … PAJAMA TOPS and THE IMPOSSIBLE YEARS delightful comedies..,PEG O’MY HEART and TOBACCO ROAD popular.
Peter DeMaio was Rue’s husband at this time … later in the season they both went to work together at Hartford Stage Company. Sylvia Harmon, a Portsmouth resident, had acted with Theatre-by-the-Sea when it was on Ceres Street. Donald Hassard and Marshall Williams played pianos, and Bill McLucas was on drums. The season featured such company members and apprentices as Jimmy Wittle, Gari Vari, Peter DeMaio, Don Coleman, Charlotte Costello, Roberta Callahan, Clay Johns, Amelia and Vincent Cigna, Dorothy Stradtman, and Karen Finlayson.
