HAMPTON -- Sacred Heart School has announced it will expand its Pre-Kindergarten Program beginning in September 2007.

The Hampton school’s Pre-K, which currently enrolls four-year-old children, will welcome three-year-old children into its program during the next school year.

"Our faculty members are delighted to welcome three-year-olds into our child-centered learning program," said Principal Lorraine Pritchard. "The more we can offer our children at a younger age, the better prepared they will be to begin their lifelong quest for knowledge."

Sacred Heart’s Pre-K focuses on the young child’s curiosity and sense of play as tools for the early learning experience. The Pre-K teachers support and encourage children in developing skills that will enhance their Kindergarten and first grade experiences.

"We encourage the children’s creativity and imaginative learning and help them master skills they will need to be happy, confident and competent students," said SHS Pre-K teacher, Jane O’Leary. "Through our Pre-K curriculum, we instill in each child a sense of curiosity, a love for learning, and an awareness of the spiritual and the Sacred."

The Pre-K program runs five mornings each week from 8-11 a.m., with the option of extended care from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to Pre-K, SHS continues to offer full-day Kindergarten for five-year-old children with the option of extended care from 2:30-6 p.m. For more information about the Pre-K program, call Sacred Heart School in Hampton at (603) 926-3254 or visit www.shshampton.org.
