Number of volumes added by purchase, 84; number of volumes presented, 166. Through the kindness of Hon. Cyrus 0. Sulloway the library has received from the war department at Washington, 128 volumes and 36 Atlases, containing the official record of the Union and Confederate armies during the War of the Rebellion.

Mr. Thomas L. Perkins has also presented a valuable work in ten volumes, entitled “The Papers and Messages of the Presidents of the United States.” This is a most useful and convenient work for ready reference for the student of our national history. The above two sets of books have not yet been catalogued.

Other books have been presented as follows:
Isabel Stuart, 24 volumes and various magazines; State of New Hampshire, 3 volumes; Hon. Frank W. Rollins, 1 volume, Number of volumes on catalogue, 3,123.
