An excellent pen and ink sketch of the Library building by Earl Morehouse was presented by him.

Also by Mrs. Mary Cetchell, a fine large waste basket for the librarian’s room.

Number of volumes added by purchase, 140; by gift, 66, making a total of 206; number of volumes catalogued, 3,835.

Number of volumes issued for year ending Feb. 15, 1912, 8,462, a gain of 2,413 over the circulation of 1910.

Among the more valuable works added to the library the past year may be mentioned the following:

Stoddard’s Art Pictures, 2 volumes, presented by Miss Laura Norris; A Universal History, 8 volumes, presented by Edgar Batchelder; A New Reference Atlas of the World, Webster’s International Dictionary, and the International Encyclopedia, 21 volumes, the latter especially, being a most welcome addition.

The Reading Room has been well patronized, 1,987 persons having availed themselves of its privileges during the year.

The number of visitors was usually much larger on Wednesday and Saturday than on other evenings of the week, but the evenings when no one was present were very few.

The list of magazines and papers to be found on the tables with the exception of one or two minor changes is still continued as at the first.
